Dana‘s background in college consulting has both depth and breadth: he has served as an application reader in Princeton’s Admission Office, a freelance admissions consultant, a college-essay instructor for Story To College and an English teacher at Horace Mann, where he wrote innumerable college recommendations and served as academic adviser to students in grades 9 through 12. His background enables him to view the college-admissions and college-preparation processes from the perspective of each group involved: students, parents, high schools and colleges.
The college-consulting services Dana provides include: 1) candidacy building, which involves helping the student choose the courses, aptitude exams, extracurricular activities, leadership positions, summer activities and competitions that will yield the strongest possible application; 2) application counseling, which covers every stage of the application process, including choosing colleges and writing admissions essays; and 3) essay coaching and editing, which involves helping the student during every stage of the writing process, from brainstorming to writing to revising.
Dana’s clients have been admitted to Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Brown, Penn, Cornell, Dartmouth, Stanford, MIT, Cal Tech, Williams, Amherst, the University of Chicago, Duke, UC Berkeley, Northwestern, Michigan, NYU, Georgia Tech, Carnegie Mellon, the University of Hong Kong and many other colleges.
