Jalia is a recent graduate of Cornell University where she received a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences. After graduation she worked in Singapore at a private admission consulting company. She is very comfortable working with people of different backgrounds and age ranges. Additionally, she has traveled to and explored 15 other countries across Asia, South America, Africa and Europe. She has more than 1000 hours of teaching experience for biochemistry, biology, ecology, English, writing and critical reasoning. Her greatest successes include helping several students raise their overall grade point average, become more confident taking standardized tests and write strong college admissions essays.
Before moving to Singapore, she worked as a research assistant in Cornell University’s department for ecology and evolutionary biology where she got the opportunity to work extensively with undergraduate and graduate researchers on collaborative research projects. Some of her research interests include microbiology, molecular biology, and neurobiology. Outside of tutoring, Jalia works at a neuroscience research institute and enjoys spending weekends
exploring New York City.
