Hello! My name is Zach and I graduated from Carnegie Mellon May, 2017 with a B.S. in Biology/Neuroscience and a minor in Business Administration. As someone who just recently graduated, I know how stressful the application process for both colleges and jobs can be. I want to do the best I can to make that process a little easier. My interest in education began as a freshman in High School, when I worked as an assistant math/science teacher at a Baltimore City summer school program. I worked at this program for 4 years and continued tutoring all 4 years in college, in which I tutored for Cardinal Scholars in a variety of subjects including AP Biology, AP chemistry, English, college essay help, etc. Students and parents have described me as patient, enthusiastic about teaching, and someone who can really tailor lessons to individual student needs. Every student has and incredible amount of talent, potential, and individuality, and it is the responsibility of the tutor to help each student reach his/her full potential, but more importantly, to help each student believe in themselves. There is no better feeling as a tutor than seeing your students hard work pay off. Beginning this fall, I plan to work in Life Science consulting in Washington D.C to gain “real world” experience before pursuing my MBA. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy playing golf, trying new foods, and going on runs with my dog.
